Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born on 25th August 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. Burrell was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best restaurants in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to improve the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the U.S. to share her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share this passion for the food industry with people.
